Ford Issues Recall for 2022–2024 Expedition and Navigator SUVs Due to Brake Line Defect
Ford Motor Company has announced a recall affecting 273,789 of its 2022–2024 Expedition and Lincoln Navigator SUVs in the United States. The recall addresses a potential brake line defect that could compromise vehicle braking performance.
Issue Details:
The recall stems from a manufacturing issue where the front brake lines may come into contact with the engine air cleaner outlet pipe. This contact can cause the brake lines to wear over time, potentially leading to brake fluid leaks. A loss of brake fluid can result in reduced braking ability or complete brake failure, increasing the risk of a crash .

These vehicles were manufactured between April 15, 2021, and November 20, 2024 .
Remedy and Owner Notification:
Ford will notify owners of the affected vehicles by mail, with letters expected to be sent between May 26 and May 30, 2025. Owners will be instructed to bring their vehicles to a Ford or Lincoln dealership for inspection. Dealers will inspect the front brake lines and, if necessary, replace the brake lines or the air cleaner outlet pipe at no cost to the owner .
